This special session is dedicated to the transfer of knowledge to generate materials data via computation of theoretical materials models supported by experiments. We conceived such session according to our long-standing interest and backgrounds of using first principle calculations to conduct accurate analysis and to calculate materials properties at atomic/electronic levels based on quantum mechanics, statistical thermodynamics. The objective is to predict new materials for next-generation devices such as H2 production via water splitting, new membranes for desalination, photovoltaic solar energy conversion (other optoelectronic devices are not excluded). A particular interest in designing stable materials and related devices in harsh environments such as in the desert. This special session will be organized by UM5-Rabat, MAScIR-Rabat, and “EST-Laayoun”.
